zoet cAccording to the Journal, top scouts from the Premier League were present as PSV drew 2-2 with Twente over the weekend, with Zoet their prime target.

Newcastle tried to sign the youngster over the summer but failed with a number of enquiries, with Zoet eventually signing a new deal with PSV.

Current number one Tim Krul was linked with a move away in the summer, with Arsenal reportedly interested, and Newcastle fear bids for their key man in January.

If Krul does leave then Newcastle will try again for 22-year-old Zoet, who is now number one at the Phillips Stadion, after two successful loan periods with RKC Waalwijk.

Zoet has started all ten of PSV’s competitive matches so far this season, managing to keep five clean sheets, while conceding nine in the other five matches.

A regular at U-21 level with Netherlands, Zoet has been called up to the full national squad once, back in November, but is yet to make an appearance.
