de jong nufA report from GOAL.com on Tuesday morning stated that PSV have turned their attention to De Jong, who is currently recovering from a hamstring problem, after missing out on Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel and had started talks with the former Ajax captain. The article states the Eindhoven club would push for a loan deal with an option to make it permanent.

However, Eindhoven Dagblad reporter Rik Elfrink has heard from the players representatives, who have denied the rumour, but would not completely rule out a possible deal in the future.

De Jong is set to miss the next 2-3 weeks of action and PSV will look at other options, with AZ’s Markus Henriksen and Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira also linked with the club today.
