Ajax have confirmed that Abdelhak Nouri is in a stable condition on his way to hospital after collapsing on the pitch during their friendly with Werder Bremen on Saturday.

The 20-year-old suddenly collapsed on the pitch during the second half of the tie in Austria and was immediately seen to by the medical staff, who treated the midfielder for several minutes. A helicopter then landed on the pitch to take Nouri to the hospital.
Ajax took to Twitter to update us on the youngster’s condition with the tweet stating that Nouri had cardiac arrhythmia, but that he was in a stable condition with a heart beat and was being kept asleep.

Nouri’s family have been contacted by Ajax and informed of his situation.
