Manchester United and PSV have announced they have reached a deal for Memphis Depay, with the only outstanding issue left a medical.

In recent days, Liverpool were said to have been in the pole position to sign Depay, however, Manchester United have snatched the prized winger away from them. While neither team’s official announcement revealed the transfer fee, it is believed to be in the realm of €25 Million. The speedy but technical 21-year old winger has been compared to Robben and Cristiano Ronaldo; hopefully he lives up to those expectations in the much more difficult Premier League next season.
At United, he will be reunited with the man who gave him his first international call-up, Louis Van Gaal, as well as Netherlands compatriots Robin Van Persie and Daley Blind.
In reference to the transfer, PSV sporting director Marcel Brands said, “He is a wonderful product of our training facilities and will be making the move to a wonderful club in a wonderful league.
In a sporting sense, we are obviously losing a fantastic player who is of great value to the team, but PSV is happy to allow him to make this wonderful step.”
