Feyenoord confirmed that Van Persie was returning to Rotterdam last week after he dissolved his contract with Fenerbahce. However, the deal became official on Monday when the 34-year-old signed his contract until mid-2019.

Technical director Martin van Geel told the club’s official website, “We have always said that Robin is more than welcome at Feyenoord and we are very happy that he now joins the selection. It is beautiful and special that after Dirk Kuyt and Giovanni van Bronckhorst, among other things, an icon returns to Feyenoord. With his enormous experience and great qualities as a player he can definitely be of great value to the team. ”

Van Persie added, “I am very happy to be back home at this beautiful club.”

Van Persie returns to his boyhood club, where he made his debut in 2002 before making 76 appearances, scoring 22 goals. He will wear shirt number 32.
