Ajax director Marc Overmars has promised that there will be clarity on the future of Donny van de Beek soon and he expects the midfielder to stay in Amsterdam.

Prior to Ajax’s Champions League clash with PAOK Salonika, Overmars stood in front of the Ziggo Sports camera’s and was asked about Van de Beek’s future.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with Real Madrid for weeks, but Overmars is expecting his future will be settled soon. He said, “It will not be long before it becomes clear. And I am hopeful that it will turn out positively.”
Asked directly if he thinks van de Beek will stay at the club, Overmars said, “I will assume that, yes. There are clubs that have actually reported, absolutely. But you also make agreements. A few weeks ago I said that I want clarity before a certain date. What that date is? That does not matter.”
