Brobbey has made his Ajax debut this season but is coming into the final months of his contract, with his agent Mino Raiola linking the striker to clubs in Italy.
Ajax have been trying to extend the youngster’s deal without success and the signing of Sebastien Haller has thrown Brobbey’s future into doubt.
However, Marc Overmars has told the Ajax website that they are still working hard to extend Brobbey’s contract, “We have been working on renewing his contract for a long time. We still want that very much, but so far it has not worked out. He has an expiring contract and can now talk to other clubs, that is his right.
“It is my responsibility that there will soon be a striker with quality. It should not be the case that soon when it is January 30, there will still be injuries and we have no one in the front. Then you have to bring forward choices and have that. We are now done with Haller. However, it does not alter the fact that we still want to continue with Brobbey “
