Utrecht has confirmed that goalkeeper Maarten Paes has joined MLS side FC Dallas.

The stopper has joined FC Dallas initially on loan but the MLS side has the option to make it permanent.

The 23-year-old came through the NEC Nijmegen academy before joining Utrecht in 2018. He has since made 48 appearances for the club, including 19 this season. Paes has six caps for Netherlands U21’s.

Fabian de Keijzer is now the number one goalkeeper for Utrecht.
