Excelsior earned a crucial point at PEC Zwolle in their battle to beat the drop.

The home side came into the game with confidence after their derby win over Go Ahead Eagles last time out, and they took the lead just before the half hour mark. Django Warmerdam found the bottom corner with a lovely strike from outside the box.
However, PEC Zwolle’s lead only lasted eight minutes before Luigi Bruins raced onto Mike van Duinen’s pass before slotting past Mickey van der Hart.
In the second half neither side came close to finding the winning goal and the game ended with both teams taking a point. PEC Zwolle are 11th while Excelsior remain 15th and two points above the drop zone.
