In their previous nine Eredivisie matches, Heerenveen had opened the scoring and against PEC Zwolle it was no different after they were awarded a penalty on 38 minutes when Joey van den Berg’s shirt was tugged in the box by Ben Rienstra. Mark Uth made no mistake from the spot to send the visitors into the break in front.
PEC Zwolle found an equaliser six minutes into the second half as Bart van Hintum’s curling free kick was headed past Kristoffer Nordfeldt by Tomas Necid.
The home side were only level for ten minutes before Heerenveen once again took the lead, Uth played an excellent one-two with Daley Sinkgraven before slamming the ball past Warner Hahn for his second of the game.
Back came PEC Zwolle again though and a huge error from Nordfeldt handed the home side a point. Maikel van der Werff tried his luck with a shot from 30 yards, and inexplicably the Heerenveen goalkeeper allowed the ball to fly through his hands and into the net.
Despite the point PEC Zwolle slip to 4th, while Heerenveen sit a place behind them in fifth.
