PEC Zwolle have confirmed the signing of former Heerenveen striker Reza Ghoochannejhad on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old was with Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia but decided to dissolve his contract with the club, allowing him to join PEC Zwolle on a free transfer.

Ghoochannejhad told the PEC Zwolle website, “I am very happy to be back in the Netherlands and in particular at PEC Zwolle. I know the Dutch competition through and through and I like it very much. In Zwolle I will do my utmost to further develop the team and myself. I look forward to the first match on September 15, at home against RKC Waalwijk. ”

The striker has plenty of experience in the Eredivisie having had two spells with Heerenveen, while also playing for Emmen, Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles.

Between 2016 and 2018, the Iranian scored 32 times in 75 appearances for Heerenveen.
