Willem II are looking for a new head coach after they confirmed that Zeljko Petrovic has left the club.

Petrovic joined Willem II in January with a mission to keep the club in the Eredivisie. He succeeded in that mission, but Willem II have decided to now go in a different direction.

Willem II technical director Joris Mathijsen told the club’s website, “In recent months we have worked very intensively and pleasantly with Zeljko. He has put in a great performance by guiding the club from a sporting difficult situation to direct life preservation. He deserves our compliments and gratitude for that.

“We evaluated the season last week and then talked about the future. This showed that we cannot meet his wishes in terms of staff and selection for the coming season.”
