PSV head to Amsterdam ten points ahead of their rivals, who currently sit third in the table.

Cocu said, ”We plan on taking this Eredivisie season game by game. We play Ajax on Sunday and then we have a couple more games before the winter break.

”During the winter break, we will evaluate our position in terms of what we can expect in the second half of the season.

”The games between Ajax and PSV Eindhoven have been dynamic in recent years. Both teams will want to win and will look to score and continue to attack. I do not predict a tactical game of chess in the ArenA.

”If we manage to win in Amsterdam against Ajax we will take a big step towards our objective of becoming champions. Although we are not there yet. There is a long way to go with many games still to be played.”
