Riedewald, who has been utalised at left back in recent internationals, has been forced to withdraw from the squad after sustaining a slight knee injury during Ajax’s draw with Feyenoord on Sunday.
Coach Danny Blind has now turned to Stoke City’s Erik Pieters to replace Riedewald, despite the former PSV left back suffering a nose injury in his side’s 1-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend.
Pieters has 18 caps for the national team, but has only made on appearance for the national team since 2014.
