Spartak Moscow boss Massimo Carrera has confirmed that Quincy Promes is suffering from a calf issue and may miss next week’s Champions League clash with Liverpool.

The winger netted both goals in Spartak Moscow’s 2-0 win over Kuban Krasnodar on Thursday but aggravated a calf problem during the match.

Promes will now miss this weekend’s league clash Anzhi, but Carrera confirmed he is hopeful he can use the Dutch international against Liverpool on Tuesday. He told the press, “We are going to try to get him fit for Liverpool,”

Promes has been in outstanding form for Spartak so far this season, with the forward netting nine times and adding three assists in 13 games.
