PSG were favourites to sign the 19-year-old for a while before Juventus overtook them in the race. The Italian side have agreed a five-year deal with the defender, but are still haggling over a fee with Ajax.
The struggle for Juventus to seal the deal may have opened up a window for other clubs. However, Leonardo has shut down any chance of De Ligt joining PSG.
He told Le Parisien, “De Ligt will not come to PSG.
“There was a possibility. He is a great player but it was not a good time to make a big investment.
“We must calm down a little. We don’t have an envelope of €200 million to spend.”
