According to Le10Sport, PSG are hoping Mino Raiola can help them trump Barcelona to the signing of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Over the past few days, the media in Spain has been full of stories stating that Barcelona was leading the race for the 19-year-old defender. Catalunya Radio even stated that Barcelona has €70 million ready for De Ligt.

However, PSG are not ready to give up the fight and are hoping that De Ligt’s adviser Mino Raiola can convince the Netherlands international to choose Paris.

Raiola is currently in talks with PSG over a contract extension for midfielder Marco Verratti and in these discussions, De Ligt’s future is also set to be a talking point.

Whether Raiola can convince De Ligt to reject Barcelona is another matter. The centre-back is said to be favouring a move to the Catalan club where his good friend Frenkie de Jong will be playing from next season.
