PSV ended their run of four matches without a victory with a hard fought 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam in Eindhoven.

The home side started sluggishly and stand-in goalkeeper Ramko Pasveer had to save well from Stijn Spierings in the first minute before both Thomas Verhaar and Craig Goodwin went close to giving Sparta the lead.
Only after the half hour mark did PSV start to create chances as Gaston Pereiro missed the target with a volley, Davy Propper sent a shot wide and Joshua Brenet forced Roy Korsmit into a save.
PSV continued to push forward in the second half and eventually with fifteen minutes left Bart Ramselaar anticipated a pass from Luuk de Jong well before lifting the ball over Korsmit and into the net to break the deadlock. It could have been more convincing for PSV before the end but Korsmit kept the score down.
The win puts PSV third and six points behind leaders Feyenoord who face Ajax on Sunday.
