PSV Eindhoven were reduced to ten men against Willem II early in the second half but recovered to record a 2-0 win over Willem II which keeps their title chances alive.

psv wille mmThe home side commanded possession in the first half but couldn’t find their rhythm in front of the opponents box, with Luuk de Jong hitting the bar, and Santiago Arias sending a strikeĀ just wide.

Just before the hour mark the right back put his side in big trouble as he was shown his second yellow card of the game and PSV had to play the last 30 minutes with only ten men. However with a man less PSV improved and they took the lead on 68 minutes as De Jong flickedĀ a corner on and Marco van Ginkel finished from close range.

Minutes later PSV sealed victory from the penalty spot after Hector Moreno was adjudged to have been pulled down in the box. De Jong took the ball and slotted in his 20th league goal of the season.

The victory keeps PSV just behind leaders Ajax, while Willem II sit 15th.
