PSV Eindhoven have their new left-back with Ricardo Rodriguez set to join on loan from AC Milan with an option to buy.

The Eindhoven side needed a new left-back this month and have been linked with Rodriguez for weeks, but it seemed the deal was dead with Fenerbahce also in the running.

PSV switched their attentions to Patrick van Aanholt, but Crystal Palace are unwilling to part with the Dutchman for less than €15 million. PSV had bid €11 million but are unwilling to go higher.

On Wednesday, PSV finally made a breakthrough, though, with Voetbal International reporting that a deal is agreed with AC Milan for Rodriguez, who will join on loan until the end of the season. There will be an option to make the deal permanent.

Rodriguez has found game time in Italy scarce and the 27-year-old sees the move to Eindhoven as the perfect chance to ensure he remains in the Switzerland squad for this summer’s European Championships.
