The 16-year-old started his career in Ajax’s academy, but moved to Barcelona in 2011. However the Spanish giants have been unable to register the youngster after FIFA deemed the signing illegal.
At the end of last season PSV loaned Adekanye, but with the Netherlands U16 international now released by Barcelona he has decided to reject a return to Netherlands in favour of a move to Liverpool. De Telegraaf reporter Mike Verweij confirmed Adekanye has rejected Ajax and PSV for the Premier League.

Adekanye was born in Nigeria, but represents Netherlands at international level.
