After earning one point from their opening two games, PSV needed to avoid a defeat in France to keep their hopes of progression alive.
After a shaky start, PSV grew into the game and Hirving Lozano struck the inside of the post in the 27th minute. PSV had good possession but couldn’t turn that into clear-cut chances.
In the 54th minute, a good team move ended with Johan Bakayoko curling the ball into the bottom corner and PSV had the lead.
The lead only lasted eleven minutes before Elye Wahi got ahead of Andre Ramalho to turn Przemyslaw Frankowski’s cross past Walter Benitez.
Before the end, both teams came close to netting the winner with Joey Veerman putting a free-kick just wide for PSV.
The point means PSV stay fourth but they still have two home games to come. A win in the next clash against Lens in Eindhoven is crucial for progression.
