PSV Eindhoven has booked their first win in the Eredivisie this season after a 3-1 victory over ADO Den Haag.

With Gaston Pereiro out injured, Mark van Bommel decided to bring Hirving Lozano back into the starting line-up. Timo Baumgartl also made his Eredivisie debut in the centre of defence.

PSV dominated from the start but struggled to create big chances, while at the other end, Jeroen Zoet had to be alert to deny Tomas Necid.

After half an hour, ADO Den Haag stunned the home crowd by taking the lead, through Necid, who hammered a fierce strike past Zoet after brushing off Erick Gutierrez.

Just before half-time, PSV levelled as Bruma’s strike from the edge of the area took a deflection before flying past Robert Zwinkels.

Early in the second half, Lozano had to be taken off injured and was replaced by Cody Gakpo. A minute later, Donyell Malen gave PSV the lead with a low finish past Zwinkels from a tight angle.

Dumfries then had a goal disallowed for offside before Malen hit the bar. PSV continued to push forward and in the last few minutes, Gakpo added the third goal after Zwinkels had parried Malen’s effort.

The win puts PSV onto four points, while ADO Den Haag are still waiting for their first points of the campaign.
