The 19-year-old spent the whole of last season in Eindhoven, making 25 league appearances before returning to parent club Manchester City this summer.
Rekik had hoped to break into the Manchester City first team this season, and was included in their squad for pre-season tours of Scotland, and the United States. However with Eliaquim Mangala joining from Porto, the chances of Rekik gaining first team action was slim, and PSV have swooped to bring him back to the Eredivisie.
After forming a successful defensive partnership last season, Rekik will be re-united with Jeffrey Bruma in the centre of Phillip Cocu’s defence. Rekik could make his second PSV debut this Saturday against NAC Breda.
