PSV Eindhoven director Marcel Brands has denied that the club are interested in signing Dutch striker Luuk de Jong.

de jong lThe Borussia Monchengladbach striker is currently out of favour with the Bundesliga side, and is yet to score a goal this season.

With the World Cup looming, a move away from Germany has been mooted in order for De Jong to gain the minutes needed to impress national team coach Louis van Gaal.

Newcastle United have been constantly linked with the forward, while Ajax were interested in the summer, and may make a move in January.

However despite being linked with a move for De Jong on Monday, and a striker injury crisis at the moment, PSV Eindhoven have denied any interest in the former Twente forward.

Director Marcel Brands told Voetbal International, “Matavz, according to the doctor will play again after the winter and Locadia is fit.”

“PSV have not enquired about Luuk de Jong.”

De Jong currently has seven caps for Netherlands national team, but has not featured since the friendly with England in February 2012.
