PSV Eindhoven director Marcel Brands has denied that Hannover 96 are close to signing striker Luuk de Jong.

Reports from Germany recently stated that Hannover 96 had made a €7 million offer for the under-fire striker. However speaking to Voetbal International on Monday, PSV director Marcel Brands said, “I have not had contact with Hannover 96.”

De Jong has fallen out of favour in Eindhoven after a poor start to the campaign and remained on the bench as PSV started their season with a 3-2 win over AZ Alkmaar. The former FC Twente, Newcastle United and Borussia Monchengladbach forward has already indicated that he is open to leaving PSV this summer.
