Depay has netted 25 goals in 35 games this season for PSV, and the winger is attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, PSG, and Manchester City.
All signs are pointing to the 21-year-old departing PSV this summer, and the clubs director Marcel Brands seems resigned to losing one of his key players as they prepare for the Champions League next season.
Brands told ANP, “The chances are very high that he leaves. If you see what clubs are enquiring about him, they really are the best in Europe.”
“When i talk for PSV i would say he is not ready and should continue here for another year. But I am realistic and if i worked at a big European club, I’d buy him without question.”
Brands then went on to add that he would be sad to see Depay leave, but the club should be proud that they developed such a player.
He said, With a heavy heart, because a great player and a great guy leaves. But we are also proud that a boy from the academy is going to make such a step.”
