Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City are among the clubs that have been linked with a move for Madueke recently, with reports that the attacker is growing frustrated at being on the bench in Eindhoven.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, De Jong said they want to keep Madueke this summer despite the interest, “A fantastic boy with a lot of potential, who has already had a lot of return for his age and we want to see it shine here next year.
“Noise on the line? I am here to remove it,” said De Jong. “Being disappointed once is part of being young. Maximum development is sometimes accompanied by a change or a reserve turn.”
Ihattaren is a different situation, though, admits De Jong and the 19-year-old could leave the club this summer as he comes into the final year of his contract in Eindhoven. It has been a difficult season for Ihattaren, who has had run ins with head coach Roger Schmidt.
De Jong said, “Whether we have given up with Mo? I will only give him up when he no longer has a contract with us. We will continue to help him, so that he will break through completely. But there is also a chance that he will leave. We do not have to ignore that, because he only has a one-year contract left.”
De Jong admits that anything can happen with the Duo between now and the end of the transfer window, “Until the transfer deadline on September 1 and possibly beyond, all options are still open. Think of players like Donyell Malen, Cody Gakpo and Jordan Teze. At the age of Noni and Mo, they had not yet made as many minutes in PSV 1 as they do now. There is plenty of time “
