rekik psv jjPSV have loaned the 20-year-0ld centre back from Manchester City for the past two seasons, with Rekik becoming an integral part of the side that have picked up the Eredivisie title, forming a formidable partnership in the centre of defence with Jeffrey Bruma.

Now with PSV looking to build their squad for the Champions League next season, and financially boosted by the Memphis Depay deal to Manchester United, the clubs director confirmed he is hoping to sign Rekik permanently.

Marcel Brands told De Telegraaf, “Karim will decide where his future lies”

“He has three options. One is that PSV buy him. That would hopefully be feasible for us. Two is he stays at Manchester City. That option I consider the least likely. The third option is that another club buys him.”

“Manchester City wanted to first loan him in a different league, but Karim would not be let that happen. He wants to know where he’s at. At his age it would be a perfect strategy towards the Dutch national team and the EC (European Championships) to remain at PSV . He will now have to make the choice. ”
