PSV Eindhoven are out of Europe despite a 2-1 win over Olympiacos on Thursday. Michael Bell provides his player ratings for the PSV players.

Yvon Mvogo 6/10: Looked set to keep a clean sheet with the post making more saves than he did in the evening. However, he couldn’t keep out Ahmed Hassan’s late goal.

Denzel Dumfries 6/10: Did well defensively and also tried to contribute to the attack. An energetic performance from the PSV captain.

Nick Viergever 6/10: A big upgrade on Baumgartl and barely put a foot wrong. Blocked two shots and was solid throughout.

Jordan Teze 6/10: Didn’t have much to do all evening and didn’t make any mistakes. Solid next to Viergever for most of the game.

Phillip Max 6.5/10: Got an early yellow card, but was energetic on the left and was a threat. Almost made it 3-0 with a strike wide. Made more tackles than any of his teammates and contributed three key passes.

Pablo Rosario 5/10: Much of the same from the midfielder, who was unable to dominate the middle. Lost the ball on several occasions.

Olivier Boscagli 6/10: Had a very good first half in the midfield for PSV, but was less decisive in the second. Overall a good stand in for Sangare though.

Ryan Thomas 6/10: Got an assist for Zahavi’s opener, and put in a lot of effort pressing the ball. However, made some errors in the second half and Olympiacos almost scored when he let Camara get through too easily.

Mario Gotze 5.5/10: Expected more from Gotze, who scored twice at the weekend. Came close in the second half but struggled to have an impact throughout. Ran a lot but needs to be more decisive.

Eran Zahavi 8/10: Like last week, Zahavi netted twice and his second was an excellent free-kick. Sadly it wasn’t enough to make the next round.

Donyell Malen 5.5/10: Got chances but couldn’t take them and it proved crucial. He hit the post before Olympiacos scored.
