Both sides currently sit on seven points, but with PSV holding a better goal difference, a draw will be enough for Phillip Cocu’s side to advance.
However the Eindhoven side are currently in a rut having won only once in their last 11 games, with Saturday’s humiliating 6-2 defeat to Vitesse at the Philips Stadion showcasing the problems that PSV currently have.
PSV have been rocked by a serious injury to midfielder Stijn Schaars, who will miss six weeks of action, while Ola Toivonen is also sidelined and Jeffrey Bruma suspended after being sent off in the loss to Ludogorets. However left back Jetro Willems is back in the squad, and is expected to come straight into the starting line up.
Ukrainian side Chornomorets currently sit 5th in their domestic league, and have only suffered one defeat in their last seven matches, with this coming against Shakhtar Donetsk. Chornomorets have had a week of rest before this game with their tie against Arsenal Kiev cancelled last weekend.
In the earlier fixture between the two sides in Ukraine, PSV came out on top 2-0 thanks to goals from Memphis Depay, and Florian Jozefzoon. Coco will need to use this victory to inspire his confidence lacking side.
Possible line-ups:
PSV- Zoet, Brenet, Jörgensen , Rekik, Willems, Hendrix, Hiljemark, Maher, Narsingh, Locadia, Depay
Chornomorets- Bezotosny, Zubeyko, Kutas, Fontanello, Berger, Riera, Kovalchuk, Bobko, Dja Djedje, Gai, Antonov
PSV desperately need a win, and good performance to kick-start a turn in form, but Chornomorets are a dangerous side. AZ Alkmaar, and Ajax will feature in Friday’s last 32 draw, lets hope PSV will also be in the pot.
