The 26-year-old is out of contract in Rotterdam this summer, and has indicated that he is looking to leave Excelsior. NAC Breda boss Robert Maaskant has already confirmed his intention to sign the Excelsior captain, but he will face competition from abroad.
Fischer’s agent has told Voetbal International that Scottish side Glasgow Rangers have been in contact and are ready to offer the centre back a move abroad. The Scottish giants are currently in the Championship, but they have a chance of gaining promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs.
Fischer started his career with NAC Breda, and has since played for Cambuur, FC Emmen, and AGOVV before joining Excelsior in 2013. In two seasons, Fischer has made 48 league appearances, scoring once.
