Reading are on the lookout for a new coach after sacking Steve Clarke on Friday and according to The Daily Mirror, Dennis Bergkamp is on their shortlist.
Bergkamp has been assistant coach to Frank de Boer at Ajax since 2013, but the former Dutch international striker has spoken in the past that he does not see himself as a manager.
He said in 2013, “I can’t really plan ahead. I know I will be here for at least another three or five years and then I don’t know. I don’t see myself being at Ajax for the rest of my coaching career. I don’t see myself as a manager.”
Whether Bergkamp has had a change of heart since then remains to be seen.
