The German was instrumental in Ajax’s route to the Europa League final last year and was linked with a return to Germany in the summer. However, Ajax blocked any transfer, much to the annoyance of Younes who is aiming to be a part of Germany’s World Cup squad.

Younes, who has missed part of this season with a knee injury, is now being linked with a January move away from Amsterdam with several clubs from the Bundesliga keen. However, according to Marca, Real Betis are hoping to take Younes to La Liga as they look to bolster their attack.

Younes has a contract at Ajax until 2018, but the Amsterdam side have an option to extend his deal for an extra year. However, with the form of Justin Kluivert and the arrival of Hassane Bandé this summer, Ajax may be open to letting the 24-year-old leave.
