With Zinedine Zidane set for an overhaul at the Bernabeu this summer countless top players have been linked with a move to the Spanish capital, including former Ajax maestro Christian Eriksen. But news has surfaced that Donny van de Beek has caught the eye of the Frenchman with his displays in the Champions League – which include knocking out defending champions Real Madrid.

Nonetheless, van de Beek is seen as an alternative to preferred option, Manchester United’s midfielder Paul Pogba. However, Real representatives believe not only that the Ajax midfielder will be more affordable than the World Cup winner, but crucially that the Dutchman has already proven himself at the highest level.

Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham are also lurking around the 21-year-old academy graduate who has scored 15 and assisted 11 more in 45 games across all competitions this season.
