Real Madrid have reportedly told Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek that they will not be following up their interest this summer.

Earlier this year, Real Madrid agreed a fee with Ajax for the midfielder, but the Spanish giants have been stalling on the deal since.

According to De Telegraaf chief of football, Valentijn Driessen, Real Madrid have now pulled out of the deal.

He told Veronica Inside, “But Real Madrid has in fact withdrawn. They said: if you want to look for another club, you can. Real does not want to commit to Donny van de Beek. They are now working with other players, including Pogba.

“Pogba represents enormous commercial value. A transfer also has to pay for itself. Pogba pays for itself earlier than Donny van de Beek. First Real Madrid goes for the big boys, and then for the filling. And 55 million euros is a lot of money for Van de Beek, especially during this period. “

Van de Beek has also been linked with Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle United.
