Redan had been with Netherlands U17’s over the past week, scoring three goals and assisting another in two European U17 championship qualifers. However, he missed the win over Turkey on Tuesday in order to play for Chelsea in their quarter-final in Madrid.

The 17-year-old started the match and netted twice and provided an assist in the first half to make it 3-1 at the break. He had luck on his side for his first goal, which was a handball not spotted by the referee, but his second was a legal finish.

With Chelsea being reduced to ten men in the second half, Redan was sacrificed in order to see out the win, ending chances of a hat-trick.

Redan has now scored three goals and contributed two assists in three UEFA Youth League games this season.
