The striker spoke about his hunger to regain his scoring form from his days at Sporting Lisbon and taking the opportunity to play more regularly after disappointing seasons on loan at St Etienne and Real Betis where he often watched the games from the bench.
Van Wolfswinkel said, ”I made the transfer from Vitesse Arnhem to FC Utrecht in the past and then on to Sporting Lisbon and I played two years there and I played a lot of European games and we reached the semi finals of the Europe League too (Where they lost to Athletic Bilbao).
”Due to scoring a lot of goals at Sporting Lisbon I then made the switch to Norwich City things did not go well for me there but I have learnt about positive experiences during a football career and also negative experiences too and that can only help you in your approach throughout the rest of your career ”.
”I will be the first to admit that I have not scored enough goals in the previous few seasons but I have also not played often enough. I want to work hard here at Vitesse and enjoy my football again and score goals in a good footballing team”.
