The KNVB had reportedly approached Rijkaard about the position as he was their number one candidate to replace Ronald Koeman.
However, the 57-year-old has no interest in coming out of retirement for the Oranje position. He was previously in charge of the national team between 1998 and 2000, but hasn’t worked in football since 2013.
The KNVB must now look towards their second choice target. Henk ten Cate and Louis van Gaal are also being linked with the job, while Frank de Boer is reportedly open to the position.
