The former Barcelona boss has been out of work since leaving his post as Saudi Arabia national team coach in 2013 and has stated recently that he has no interest in another job as a manager.

However, FAT secretary-general Pol. Lt. Pisan Judilok has told The Bangkok Post that Rijkaard has applied to be the Thailand head coach.

He said, “We have received the profile of Frank Rijkaard who has applied for the job of Thailand national team head coach after Kiatisuk Senamuang resigned as the head coach.

“FAT President Pol. Gen. Somyot Poompunmuang and its technical chairman Witthaya Laohakul are busy making up their minds and will announce the decision later.”
