RKC Waalwijk have shown vast improvements this season and went into the game on the back of their shock win against FC Twente.
After half-an hour it was RKC who took the lead when Finn Stokkers finished calmly after the striker raced onto a through ball from Anas Tahiri.
Five minutes later, VVV-Venlo equalised from the penalty spot through Georgios Giakoumakis after a handball by Paul Quasten. VVV then took the lead six minutes into the second half with Vito van Crooij finding the net with a header.
VVV were then reduced to ten men as Roy Gelmi saw red for his second yellow card. From that point, RKC poured forward and Ahmed Touba equalised with a deflected strike in the 75th minute.
It seemed like VVV were going to hold on for a point but in the 87th minute, Lennerd Daneels found the top corner to seal victory for RKC Waalwijk.
The win puts RKC up to tenth, while VVV are 13th.
