Heracles Almelo came from 2-0 down to defeat bottom of the table RKC Waalwijk 4-2.

Cyriel Dessers earned his first call-up to the Nigerian national team this week and after only a few minutes he had the perfect opportunity to open the scoring. Delano Burgzorg was brought down but Dessers missed his spot-kick.

Ten minutes later, RKC were awarded a spot kick of their own and Clint Leemans made no mistake. By the 28th minute it was 2-0 as Anas TahariΒ shot well into the far corner.

RKC were on course for a massive win but within five minutes they had thrown their lead away. Van den Buijs made it 1-1 with a header from a corner before Silvester van der Water benefited on poor defending to make it 2-2 at the break.

Seven minutes into the second half, van der Water made it 3-2 after Dessers cleverly stepped over Mauro Junior’s cross. Burgzorg then sealed the victory in the 66th minute after another fine assist from Mauro Junior.

Heracles are now 8th after the win while RKC stay bottom and 11 points adrift from a non-automatic relegation spot.
