RKC Waalwijk have boosted their chances of slim hopes of survival with a 2-1 win over Utrecht.

RKC went into the game rock bottom and 13 points adrift of a non-automatic relegation spot.

It seemed, the hosts were heading for another loss when Gyrano Kerk gave Utrecht the lead in the 24th minute. RKC keeper Etienne Vaessen failed to keep out the attackers tame effort from distance.

However, in the 69th minute, Sylla Sow cut in from the right-hand side and found the top corner to equalise. Seven minutes later, RKC had the lead when Jeroen Zoet came out of his goal and was lobbed by Darren Maatsen.

With their fourth win of the campaign, RKC are now ten points from safety. Utrecht are 6th.
