Arjen Robben thought about retiring again recently but he is still focused on playing for Groningen.

The 36-year-old came out of retirement to sign for Groningen in the summer but has been restricted to only two short appearances due to injuries. He will not return before the winter break.

Speaking to Fox Sports, Robben stated he has thought about retiring recently, but he is not ready to call it quits yet.

He said, “The energy was gone for a while. Then stopping will go through your head. But a little voice in my head kept me from doing that. I am a sportsman and I really want to play for the club. But of course it is all frustrating.”

The injuries were not unexpected for Robben, “I knew it was going to be difficult. Of course I am no longer the youngest and have always had to deal with injuries in my career.”
