The in-form winger was surprisingly left out of the starting line-up and came off the bench on 70 minutes with the scoreline already 3-0 to the French side.
After the game, Robben was asked about starting on the bench, but although clearly annoyed, held his tongue. He said, “Yes, but I’m not going to say anything about it.
“Every word about it is one too many. We lost 3-0 and that’s tough. The important thing is that we stick together now as a team. We need peace. Anyone who now wears his dissatisfaction to the outside, does not help the team
The defeat has piled the pressure on coach Carlo Ancelotti and when asked by BILD about if they still have confidence in the Italian, Robben would only say, “I’m not going to answer that question now”
