Bayern Munich winger and Netherlands captain Arjen Robben will return to full training this Sunday. Robben, who’s been sidelined with a muscular injury after just 35 minutes of play this season will be looking to make a sustained return to form. Robben has always been injury prone, but his age mixed with over a year of injury issues have many questioning whether or not he’s still a worthy investment. At his best, there is no doubt that Robben is one of the best, most effective attackers in Europe, but his tendency to hit the ground easy and injury issues have marred his reputation.
With the Champion’s League campaign beginning next week, Bayern have 7 games in the next 20 days, and a fit Robben will be very important to Carlo Ancelotti’s side. A return to form that could see Robben fit to play for the Netherlands next two World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and a tricky game against France will mean the world to the Oranje, who’s side have struggled of late. The return of their captain, and arguably best player will give a boost of both skill and leadership to the troubled Dutch national team.
