Robben was substituted halfway through the first period of the Bundesliga tie on Sunday, and after the game Bayern Munich released a statement which confirmed the winger had torn an abdominal muscle, and will miss “several weeks.”
This means Robben will pull out of Netherlands squad for their crucial Euro qualifier with Turkey on Saturday, and the friendly with Spain three days later.
The injury is a major blow for Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink, who is already without captain Robin van Persie for the must win Euro tie. It is unclear whether Hiddink will call in a replacement.
