The Kerkrade side had a difficult start to the campaign, but Molenaar stated his relief and happiness for Roda JC supporters that they have achieved their first home win of the season.

Molenaar said, ”I am happy with our victory tonight and I feel on the basis of the second half that it is deserved. I am also delighted for our supporters that have won in front of them.

”I was surprised that we got the free kick in a promising position on the pitch which led to the goal and it appeared that the gods were with us tonight.

”To win the match with a goal right at the end is the ideal scenario for us and we kept a clean sheet which we can take into training this week.

” Our supporters have been through a lot and we are also relieved to win our first home game of the season.”
