Molenaar spoke of the eagerness of Roda JC to measure themselves against teams such as PEC Zwolle but he feels at the moment that is a bridge too far.

He said ”We must rue the chances we had to win the game today. We managed to keep PEC Zwolle at bay in the first half but the equalizer hurt us.

”We had difficulty in building up sustained attacks we were also sluggish in ball possesion too. The game today cost us a lot of energy and we still have a lot of work to do.

”The way we kept PEC Zwolle at bay at times today gives us confidence going forward and reasons to be optimistic for the future. We also did some things well today.

”We must improve as time goes on this season. We want to measure up against clubs such as PEC Zwolle but at the moment that is a bridge too far.”
