Roda JC boss Darije Kalezic challenged his players to bounce back from the 6-0 hammering by Ajax last week, and after only two minutes Tomi Juric had the ball in the net. Unfortunately for the home side referee Eric Braamhaar chalked the goal off for a foul in the build-up.
However Roda JC didn’t have to wait long for the opening goal as Edwin Gyasi’s excellent cross was steered into the net by Tom van Hyfte from close range on eleven minutes.
Before the break ADO Den Haag equalised as Giovanni Korte’s ball into the box found an unmarked Mike Havenaar, who calmly beat Benjamin van Leer.
ADO Den Haag were then handed a big advantage in the second half when Juric was shown a straight red card for a kicking action towards Aaron Meijers, but despite having a man extra they couldn’t find a winner.
Havenaar had the best opportunity for ADO, but the striker’s effort was cleared off the line by Ard van Peppen before Timothy Derijck headed wide from a good position just before the end.
ADO Den Haag climb to 12th while Roda JC sit two places above them.
